They're a little better than 19's and 20's but still far from 18's. They've improved in size and fit, but still feel like you're standing barefoot on concrete. There's no cushioning in the heel area, and even with orthopedic insoles, things don't look much better. Also, the pair I received looked like they had been worn and then cleaned and returned. The Asics sticker was missing under the insole and the heel of one shoe looked a little gnawed.

I often feel uncomfortable wearing shoes that are too tight at the top of the foot. Due to the wide version of these shoes, this is not a problem. I worked 14 hours on concrete in these shoes and thanked my lucky star for the right pair. No friction problems. Lots of pillows. They are very sweet. Comfortable for walking and helps with hip, ankle and knee pain due to misalignment. This depends on the shape of your foot, but if you have a higher arch it's definitely worth considering. My pediatrician recommended this shoe to Asics because it was too tight. I have narrow feet (AA) and narrow heels (also AA). I ordered size 9 as that is my foot size. When I tried the shoes on they were too short as my big toes were standing directly on the toe of the boot and were rubbing on the top of the boots making the fit uncomfortable.
