Poorly formed thread

Only about 1 in 20 bits is screwed onto the mandrel. I also tried threading them onto some 10-24 bolts to make sure my stem was bad, but most of them didn't go any further. Given the good reviews until recently, it seems like something went wrong with the manufacturing process.

Pros
  • Tools and equipment
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Do not buy Astro #10-24 rivets, they are defective.

Don't buy those #10-24 rivets. Disassembled two brand new $100 tools. Of course I can replace the rivet nut but don't buy that size from these guys as the threads are too loose and you'll have problems like me. They are defective and I got my money back.

Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Manufacturing issues

It appears the lead-in threads were cut incorrectly. I want to thread the entire batch I received with both a 10-24 gear and a mandrel with a nut. If you manage to screw in a screw without a transverse thread, it will be screwed in normally. This happens both before and after installation, so it's clearly a processing issue.

Pros
  • Riveting machines
Cons
  • Poor instructions
