Despite claims in both the product bullets (which I've reported) and in response to other support reviews, the device _is_ plastic. The box pictured, which I included in this review, more accurately says that the _head_ is metal and not everything. Personally I was very disappointed, I didn't want a plastic device and product claims and support responses led me to believe it wasn't plastic. It's plastic and I find it somewhat misleading (to be kind) advertising.

This is a standard gauge for everyday use. If you don't know how to use it, God help you. You might want to return to Driver's Edition 101. I have no problem with that. Easy to read and use. I really can't comment on the accuracy as I don't have anything to compare or check the accuracy of any other tool used for 'its' accuracy.
