Not the best choice for serious viewing.

While it looks and fits well, the image is blurry throughout the eyepiece. You must always place the sweet spot in the center of the displayed image.

Great eyepiece for beginners!

The Plossl Astromania 1.25" eyepieces are ideal for beginners and intermediate users. They are inexpensive and worth owning. I use them in my astronomy work to show people what I can do "cheap" Eyepiece If you are looking for the first eyepiece for your new telescope, start here.

Astromania 10mm Plossl

I bought this Astromania 10mm Plossl lens as an upgrade to a standard telescopic lens. The eyepiece is quite heavy and looks high quality. Based on my comparison with this eyepiece and standard lens, the Astromania 10mm Plossl shows less lens distortion and produces a very clear image with my f/10 telescope.

Works great as long as you live up to expectations

Bought this along with 2x Barlow to give life to an old Meade reflector and get my kids interested in astronomy without spending too much. Works great as long as you live up to expectations. It appears to have good build quality without the cheap plastics you would expect at this price point. I'm no expert and don't know for sure, but my guess is that they are made in the same offshore factories that make some name brand products.

I cannot recommend this eyepiece because of the low price.

Well I bought this eyepiece instead of the Orion because the reviews here said it was equal or even better than the Orion. I don't know because I don't have an Orion, but I have several Kellner designs that came with my telescope and they have a much sharper image than this eyepiece. Very disappointed. Pros: eye relief, low cost Cons: low resolution, low aperture, smooth outer surface, distorted fringes in the field of view I wouldn't recommend this eyepiece, I'd spend a little more and try the

Get an equatorial mount

I bought this mount to get a better view of Venus in the evening and it works well but at this high magnification the image quickly goes out of range. Combine this with Barlow's 2x magnification and you can simply watch as the image zooms into the field of view. I don't have a complex setup but with a better setup like an equatorial mount this thing would be even better. To give you an idea, I use a desktop Dobsionian that I removed from the mount and attached to a decent tripod. It takes time…

I could see a lot of detail

This 6mm eyepiece comes in handy when viewing lunar detail. I thought a 6mm eyepiece would have an incredibly small hole to look through, but to my surprise I was able to see a lot of detail as my vision is far from 20/20. I would suggest using it without the Barlow lens as the magnification makes it almost impossible to see an object with such a small eyepiece. You can also attach a moon filter to the bottom. I would recommend a $20 or $30 color filter set. From experience I can say that they…

Great eyepiece!

This review is for the AstroMania 20mm Plössl eyepiece. This eyepiece was tested under very dark skies over Black Mesa State Park in Oklahoma with my Orion XT12G scope. Packaging/Delivery: I was very impressed with the care taken in packaging this eyepiece. I have included some photos of the unpacking process showing how securely it was packed. Shipping information was sent to me by AstroMania and the package arrived within the stated time frame. The eyepiece itself comes in a very nice plastic

Excellent camera and photo value

I was very impressed with the eyepieces in this range. I have seen the same eyepieces sold under different brands and they are all very high quality. This is the first one I've bought from Revain so I thought I'd go ahead and share my experience. Brief summary for those who don't read: Pros: - Clear image with a wide field of view - Safety undercuts in the tube prevent accidental falling out of the focuser/star diagonal. The lens is less recessed than others, making it easier to access when it…
