Overall very happy and good price. Surprise for an impulse buy.

I needed a new 2"-1 1/4" adapter and bought it on the spur of the moment as it wasn't much more expensive than the cheap plain ones. I am very happy with the purchase and will now receive more. I am an astrophotographer and need a secure mount for cameras etc attached to a 2" focuser. I've had a few accidents in the past where something fell out. This adapter has a moderately low profile so as not to aggravate backfocus problems. It sits very securely (won't fall out) on the 1 1/4" side. It's…

Not suitable for conical barrels!

I bought this to use between my Baader Sct thread and a 2" snap and a 1.25" Orion dialectic star. The conical barrel and the 1.25 inch twistlock inserted in the eyepiece part could not jam it even when loading the diagonal with binocular attachments and eyepieces. Since I had to spin the Bono with the Baader bar, it kept spinning until the Bono was flipped. This helped a bit as I pulled the 2" piece to the straight part of the adapter tube. However, you don't have to mess around with 1.

So this centering adapter idea makes sense and works when implemented correctly. The problem with some telescopes, as I learned from one of mine, is the angled notch on the bottom of the adapter. I understand it helps keep it secure, but it depends on how close your set screws are to the top of the focus tube. I have a focuser with three screws that hold it in place fairly well and the other caused the centering adapter to warp when I tightened the set screw. It contradicts the "centering…
