Astromania Deluxe Tele Extender Review

I have a celestron evolution 8". I bought this to do astrophotography with my eyepieces and filters. I could find any way to attach this to my telescope. I can attach it to my camera. If I put an eyepiece in it, the end of the eyepiece does not protrude out far enough to screw into the score's 1 1/2" adapter. So this is unfortunately useless to me which is very disappointing. I am going to have to return it.

After initially giving this item a 3 star rating for poor quality control I have decided to change this to a 5 star rating. Astromania Optical sent me a new replacement item at no cost to me. It was received quickly and works correctly. Thanks Astromania Optical for doing the right thing.

This extender is much better than a couple of alternative extenders in the market. The main advantage is it can be securely attached to the telescope without much work or any risk of coming loose.

Dont buy i just finished spending 3 hours trying to get this peice to work. It says in the discription that it will fit over the visual back and you van screw in the set screw to prevent movement. However it will not fit over the visual backs of either of my telescopes. Also i cannot use any eyepeices with this because of this issue. I can remove the visual back and put it into the telescope like an eyepeice, but no magnification is achieved. This is completly useless.

It was perfect to connect camera to skywatcher 250p dob. The eyepiece fit right in and adjusted . Love it Thanks for attention!

All metal, no plastic. The thumb screws ride in grooves cut in the main tube. The threads are smooth, no burrs or snags. The Celestron T ring mates perfectly, screwing on smoothly. Nice and heavy. All in all very well made. I was an inspector in aircraft for 40 years. If I tell you it's good, it is. This is good.

Customer service is absolutely fabulous. Instructions are excellent. Quality metal construction. Hooked my Pentax DSLR up to my new Orion telescope perfectly. Opened up a whole new world of astrophotography! Get it on Best Buy!

No slop experienced here. That's my review. The sleeve fits snugly and all the tightening knobs work just as they should! Very pleased!

We could not get our Sony a6000, Interchangeable Lens Camera, to focus with this tube no matter what we tried, Barlow, Prime, Short, Long, Eyepiece Project or not.There is too much play between the sliding tubes. This minute difference in degree is huge with the power of telescopes and can easily make parts of an image blurry. The construction tolerances for telescopes should be much higher than this cheap chinese produced item.Found another adapter that doesn't adjust but is shorter and images

It's a simple device, but necessary for amateur astrophotography. The adjustable slide is really the key piece; I'm glad I did not buy the non-adjustable one. I am able to fit my Super-Plossl and regular Plossl inside without any issues. It's constructed with precision cut metal and doesn't have any sharp edges or other imperfections. Very nicely crafted.
