Description of 🔭 Astromania Finder Deluxe Telescope Reflex Sight: Unparalleled Precision and Ease of Use

Finder Deluxe features a large viewing window, four different aiming reticle patterns to choose from, and five brightness levels of red or green light. The power of the finder will be turned off when you turn the knob to "R" or "G". Horizontal and vertical fine-adjustment set-screws allow precise alignment of the reflex sight with the telescope. Includes dovetail finder bracket that fits most telescopes. Requires CR-2032 lithium button-cell battery (Not Include). The Finder Deluxe is a non-magnifying reflex sight that makes aiming your telescope easier and more accurate than ever - day or night! Finder projects a small red or green LED reticle pattern onto a viewing window so you can easily aim your telescope at night or during the day. Reflex sights are popular thanks to the intuitive, non-magnified method they employ to help you aim your telescope accurately. Depending on your chosen LED color, a small LED emits a red or green aiming pattern onto a viewing window which you peer through to aim the telescope after a simple alignment procedure.Once the pattern is lined up with your intended target object, you're all set to view it through the telescope. ZEROING: Select the reticle you desire by turning the reticle selector knob and set the intensity at the best position for you. With the E/D sight mounted, rest gun on a solid support and aim at a target 50 to 100 yards away.Test shots should be done in the same conditions to achieve maximum accuracy for adjustment, for which the use of firm rest for firing and same type cartridge is recommendable. Each click adjustment moves the point of impact by 1 MOA(approximately 1" at 100vbs,1/2" at 50 yds).

Best Finder: Telescope Accessories

I've used many different finders but this is the best. Once attached to the appropriate dovetail mounting plate and calibrated, it needs no further attention. A variety of red or green lights add flexibility. Changing the battery is also easy. I will never go back to cheap red dot finders which tend to lose their calibration and make changing batteries difficult.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Quick aiming for your telescope

Great addition to my 10" Zhumell Starfinder doo. The base's open mounting slots are a good place to keep allen keys needed for alignment. As others have said, it would be nice to have a hollow center sight without a center point to frame the stars. The main aiming tool is the same red dot sight used on firearms and is suitable for mounting on a picatinny rail.. With that in mind I have too I ordered and made a second scope for my 8" SCT in the observatory. Try this fast and easy-to-use search…

Didn't work for me Accessories

This is a scope. It is not designed for a telescopic viewfinder. Instructions are for use with a pistol (doesn't matter). What matters to me is that it has a tinted lens. I could barely see Vega, and Vega is a bright star. Pointing it at a fainter star is a waste of time, it won't shine through. Another problem is that it's too bright, it overwhelms Vega. I think it's made for rifle use by day so the tinted window is a bright LED. I have purchased many items from Astromania in the past that I…

Not the best accessory

Pros -- Multiple grids to choose from, red or green display options, and 5 levels of brightness Cons -- The brightness/color selection knob is very tight (can cause it to shift or vibrate unnecessarily ), the hex setting is very rough for alignment, if you try to change the light intensity, you can unscrew the battery cover (the battery is on the dial to change the light color/intensity), and there is no easy one On / off switch. The dial for changing the light intensity doubles as a switch…

  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Cat meows what I was looking for or

I thought I wouldn't like it. I generally like red dot seekers but I had so many bad experiences with them, had at least 3 breaks and finally gave up on them. And here it is twice as expensive! But here's the difference: This one doesn't break. Delivers but doesn't break. That was all I needed, now it's my main finder, I only take out the scope when it's necessary (for example, to see the hanger). Use the hex wrench to adjust it. The clicks are slow, small, and incremental, taking a long time…

Too many flaws, best in the accessories

While it's a solid kit overall and the adjustable brightness and viewfinder types are nice, the main drawbacks are addressed here. If you have a permanent install, these imperfections might not be a problem for you. The first major downside is that you need an allen wrench to adjust the finder scope. All my other viewfinders like this have dials or wheels. It's a real pain trying to find the spanner/wrench every time I need to line it up. The first big flaw wouldn't be a problem if it weren't…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • A few niggles

Very nice. I used the Orion SCT adapter base to mount it to my Celestron CPC1100HD oscilloscope along with the Vixen style triple AstroMania mount so I could add two more Vixen mount accessories. " so it stays calibrated despite the vibration. Mine did NOT come with a battery (requires a CR2032 battery). It's made of metal (aluminum) and has a quality finish; much better than other plastic finders. It's adjustable with Allen keys ( included), which some users find painful, but I like it because
