Flicker Free ASUS PA248Q Professional 1920X1200 Monitor 24.1 Review

I bought this monitor in the summer of 2017 and have been using it so far with no problems. I like the monitor very much. I'm a professional photographer, but I don't need or use super expensive monitors. I have had no issues with this device and it has been reliable. The buttons still work like new and are very well made. I think my next monitor will be upgraded to a 27 inch BenQ 2K screen and only then can I compare them side by side. Other than that, this Asus screen gets the job done.

I bought this monitor as a secondary display for my existing Dell U2412M. The deciding factor for my purchase was the Asus PA248Q, which has the same LCD panel as my U2412M but with additional features (faster response time, more ports, multiple computer inputs). I have had this monitor (24" model) for several years and it was my first time going from 14" CRTs to a flat panel. Unfortunately, the original ASUS monitor was stolen and I ended up buying another to replace it. The monitor was MUCH sharper than this even though it was only 1920x1080 and ASUS has 1920x1200. I think the "dot spacing" on these monitors sucks as I can ALWAYS see the pixels all the time. and i bought it again. Not a bad 16:10 monitor, but it should be better! (heavy sigh)

I now own two of these. You may need to calibrate both monitors if you want them to display the same colors. USB 3.0 works fine through the monitor. I had to calibrate both monitors.

I've done a lot of research on monitors that work well for both work and hobby use (photo editing) and are still reasonably priced. This monitor serves both purposes very well, especially for the price. The only thing I would change is the ability to claim the discount entirely online instead of mailing everything in, but overall the monitor works great!

First let me say that this monitor is perfect for a graphic designer. Being able to see the overlay of precise measurements is very valuable. I liked my first one so much that I bought a second one. A few months later, my first monitor would sometimes not wake up. A pink light will illuminate next to the power button. Now there is no light at all and does not turn on at all. A few months later my second monitor showed the same symptoms. I'm so disappointed that both displays stopped working.

Very vivid colors, more contrast and depth than my old monitor. Outstanding picture. I don't use sound, I have no opinion on it. Brightness and sound extend to the edges and corners. Great!

What I don't like is when the one I stopped working for. So I bought 2 more of these! For crisp color and detail, well! This monitor is the bomb! I am very impressed with this monitor. I use it for photo editing and it was ready to use right out of the box. Even as a hobby photographer I am very meticulous with my photos and with my laptop the editing process was difficult. I do a lot of software development, UI/UX, including graphics and Photoshop. Our company requires Pantone matching for branding and this monitor delivers accurate results. The physical buttons are a bonus, my previous monitor used "touch" buttons which would crack and cause a spooky clicking sound if the monitor overheats. Bought an Asus PA249Q Pro Art 24" monitor for photography. I've used a super clear Dell monitor for the past 5 years, but Asus is definitely an improvement (a step up). After using another monitor for four or five years, it took me a while to get used to how this one worked. After the "sleep" the screen cannot be activated easily. I love the clarity and size!

I'm a photographer who prints my stuff and it was awful. There was an Asus PA249 which was great, it did RGB color. pa248 no. This only applies to the web without printing. I'm using color space prophoto and that can't crack it.

I had some trouble with the instructions, but I set up the monitor so I can use it vertically or horizontally. I haven't used it vertically and I'm not sure what software to use in this mode. The monitor is bright and easy to read and I share it with KVM on 3 computers. When the computer restarts, the image is displayed in the wrong mode and I have to perform a recognition sequence to get the correct resolution. When purchasing the item, the screen flickered blue. Completely broken and non-working HDMI after less than a year of use. Nobody should expect that after $300 for a monitor. Broke after warranty expired, wasted $300. Do not buy.
