If you don't have it you need it

I bought this because I felt bad after stealing the one my mom had kept for over 10 years. Crushed sesame seeds are a game changer in the kitchen and in salads. Helps Release Sesame Oil!

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Style 90

Ideal Sesame Crusher

Crushes sesame seeds well. It's a bit small, but so far I'm satisfied. I keep about 5 servings (not a standard size, but about the amount for 5 meals). I remember we had a big one when I was a kid.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Doesn't grind flaxseeds so I bought it

I needed something to grind flaxseeds into a smoothie powder and this little handheld seemed perfect, but the seeds came out exactly the same size as they did were put in. Possibly the worst item I've ever bought from Revain.

Pros
  • Special Offer
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Seeds sometimes come out whole (not ground).

I purchased this grinder and was happy to use it as I was following a recipe that called for ground sesame seeds. However, when I tried to grind the seeds, I noticed that many of them came out unground! This product is not easy to use, especially since the instructions are in Japanese.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Sad hardware

If you like shredded sesame, buy this one

My husband loves to eat shredded sesame. Daily cleaning of the mortar and pestle became a problem. This grinder is the perfect replacement. It's easy to fill, just twist the handle and you have crushed sesame seeds perfect for cooking or salads, and the container is great for storage too.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

I love sesame! at Utensils & Gadgets

These are the exact same products I see and use in ramen shops. The purpose is to crush the sesame seeds to release the aromatic oils, but not crush them completely. There are few seeds that look like they are whole and "unground," but they are crushed so you can get the best flavor out of your sesame seeds. Perfect for many occasions: miso soup, ramen broth, etc. or even instant ramen!

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • Available in White Only

what you see is what you get

A very simple device for grinding sesame seeds. You sprinkle sesame seeds, and when you want to sprinkle crushed sesame seeds, spin the wheel and pour it over your food. If you eat a lot of sesame seeds (Koreans love it in everything) then it works like a charm. No fancy gizmos, no batteries required, simple and easy to use. I personally love it and prefer it to the mortar and pestle.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Minor problems
