AT&T SL82118 DECT 6.0 Cordless Telephone with Digital Answering System Review

I've had this phone for 14 months now. 2 months have passed since the warranty expired. The battery is empty. I bought a new battery and it worked for 1 day before dying. Then I noticed that the charging indicator is sometimes on, sometimes flickering, and sometimes off. I cleaned the contacts on the phone and base station but it didn't matter. This phone has had very little use and definitely should have lasted over 1 year for the price. I will not buy another AT&T phone.

My daughter decided to use my latest phone, a very inexpensive VTech, to stop my coffee. I actually wonder if that wasn't a blessing in disguise. I've been looking for a phone with a headset for a long time. I use my landline for work and without a headset it was pretty PITA. This phone is perfect for what I need. It works well, looks very stylish and is ready to use out of the box. I had no issues with noise or feedback at all. I recommend this phone, especially for under $30!

Inexpensive, looks good, works well, but the voice quality is a bit worse than with Panasonic DECT phones (but wait a minute, the cheaper one is $25 with an answering machine versus the cheapest Panasonic at $34 without an answering machine). The best features, aside from the cheap price ($25), are the 2.5mm headphone jack and belt clip. It's amazing that almost no other cheap DECT phone has such important features.
