💻 Aten UC232A: High-Quality USB to PDA/Serial Adapter with PC & Mac Drivers Review

This will result in a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) if you use it with the Cisco Console Cable. Not 100% of the time. But often enough that you don't even scream anymore. You stare blankly at the screen, knowing you're an idiot who keeps plugging in the same USB-to-serial adapter. A cheap idiot who keeps refusing to buy what works.

Works great on Linux, out of the box. It contains the Prolific PL2303 chip, like almost all others. First time works. This is a standard RS-232 serial port that operates at 115200 baud (the highest standard baud rate). I have not tested higher speeds. Haven't tested it on Windows or Mac. One caveat is that this requires the correct serial cable: either a "straight-through" serial cable or a "null-modem" serial cable, depending on the device. I bought the Aten USB232 to connect my computer to devices from 3 different manufacturers 232 . I followed the fires to tea. The USB 232 device does not show up as hardware on the computer. When I contacted tech support they told me it was downloaded and they said they would not help set it up. Since the file was downloaded, it should work, and not being connected to any system wasn't her problem. When I asked how to get a refund they told me to contact the seller Revain. AVOID ATEN

This is the fourth ATEN adapter that I have purchased. All others are still in service and working properly. Since I have a new need for this type of adapter, I keep coming back to ATEN's product. I have three different laptops that I control my telescope from and one I connect to my weather station, they all use an ATEN adapter and I'm very happy with them. I would recommend her without hesitation. Good product.
