Works great with my old Technics 88 " turntable

Bought to replace an original 1988 P-mount cartridge. Works well for me, sounds good but I'm not a music lover enough to Telling you how good the sound quality is I'm sure there are better products for a much higher price For the price it works well and suits me.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Makes me mad

Great inexpensive cartridge.

I installed this cartridge on a Technics SL-Q300 turntable as a temporary replacement to replace an old Shure M105E cartridge with an N105 stylus that has seen better days. I have no complaints about the sound quality for the price, I will give this cartridge a good test, but for now I will continue to research cartridge options for P-mount turntables.

Inexpensive decent sounding pickup and stylus

I bought this along with an old Technics SL-Q300 which I am selling. The original Shure pickup has seen better days. The sound is clear and does not bring out every tick on the record with a conical needle. Great if you're just starting out or getting back into listening to vinyl. I've been a big fan of AT products for 40 years.

  • Don't waste too much time

Good stylus

Very good replacement stylus for my Audio-Technica AT3482P cartridge. Has a spec range of 1.0 to 1.5 grams with a recommended tracking force of 1.25 grams. I've used it on a couple of old 1.5 gram records and it held the grooves and worked just great. When it comes to records that are over 35 years old and have a history of misuse, tracking them down is paramount.

Good price, original box

Last weekend I got my hands on a Technics SL QD33 table and the output was some hum and a low right channel. I think a new cartridge will at least fix the low bore issue. Or maybe a buzz. It connects directly to the P-mount tonearm as it should. Sounds good too. This fixed my problems. The sound quality is good, but I'm not a music lover. Although of course it is good to play.

  • Complete set

Good sound, great price. Recommended

Arrived quickly, super easy to install and sounds great. I got this to replace a cartridge with a Pioneer pl-570 (80s black plastic) I bought at a flea market for $3. I took this cartridge and a Hudson rubber mat and I have a very good sounding fully automatic turntable for the price of one of those portable turntables. For the price you can't get enough of the sound. Highly recommended.

  • Handy item

Works great with Technics SL-Q200

My college turntable is back. I'm impressed that (a) it still works, (b) the dust cover isn't even damaged, and (c) the cartridges are still available. Not audiophile enough to judge quality by such criteria, but it sounds as good as ever and holds up well on CD, streaming, and MP3s, which make up the bulk of my listening experience. Nice that an old friend started making music again!

not suitable.

One review said the SL Q200 sounds like new with this cartridge. Ordered with the idea of a simple plug and play solution. nope Cartridge cannot be properly installed in existing T4P. A connection will be established and when we insert the cartridge we will get a 'spike' of connection indicating that some kind of connection has been made. The screw that attaches the cartridge to the lever is misaligned, leading me to believe the cartridge is the wrong size. Disappointing. To be fair theโ€ฆ

Not so great.

Looking for a stylist to install an old jvc qll2 turntable with original cassette. I came across this cartridge and thought it was time to replace the old one. The cartridge arrived and it looked good, almost identical to the original. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the sound it made compared to the old one. Everything sounded dull and didn't have the bass I was expecting. I went back to the old cartridge but replaced the old stylus with the one in the Audio Technica wagon. Theโ€ฆ
