🔋 Camco Heavy-Duty Double Battery Box with Straps - Safely Holds (2) 6V or 12V Batteries - Durable & Anti-Corrosion (55375) Review

Advertised as heavy-duty so I was expecting more. Rated for two GC@ golf cart batteries, each weighing approximately 60 pounds. That's a lot of weight for such a flimsy battery box. I attached it to the drawbar of my caravan with EXTRA reinforcements and brackets. It will be interesting to see how it holds up over the long term.

The battery box is well made and holds the batteries neatly. However, the top is too big and doesn't fit well on the box. With the straps in place and tightened, the back of the top falls down and sits at an angle with the sides protruding beyond the tote's handles. This is a functional product, but bad design is on top. Wouldn't buy again.

Used this to install two 6v GC2 batteries in my caravan instead of the 12v battery supplied. Batteries fit perfectly in the box. The lid will not seat properly because it is touching the frame rails, but this is a universal battery box and will not be ideal for all applications. I have to trim the cover at the front corners to fit completely. Apart from that, this works for me.

I'm replacing this battery box with one that latches. This Camco plastic product protects the two batteries from the elements, but not from theft. Nylon lid ties are easily cut with a pocket knife for quick access to contents. Fast click, click and no battery. The only thing that kept my batteries going was a vigilant neighbor who yelled at the perpetrators that night and they quickly left, but not before the damage was done.

Product arrived in an oversized, damaged and partially open box; The battery box had cosmetic damage (which I could live with) and it was also missing all hardware. my compartment is about 7-3/8" wide but this dual battery compartment is closer to 7-5/8" wide. The single battery boxes I have fit very well. Didn't realize they were thicker. And here's the box itself. I put it in the tray with some modifications to the tray, but the lid and sides of the box make for an awkward, flimsy connection. When I fasten the lid, it flexes and slides out of the fastening tabs that hold the lid in place. I knew more about it before I bought.

Decent box for two size 24 batteries for campers. I've searched and they are the only company that makes two battery holders of this size. It's not bad in terms of durability. Not exactly skinny.
