my compartment is about 7-3/8" wide but this dual battery compartment is closer to 7-5/8" wide. The single battery boxes I have fit very well. Didn't realize they were thicker. And here's the box itself. I put it in the tray with some modifications to the tray, but the lid and sides of the box make for an awkward, flimsy connection. When I fasten the lid, it flexes and slides out of the fastening tabs that hold the lid in place. I knew more about it before I bought.
