Don't waste your money. The rope has bare wires and is only held together with thin ribbons. When unpacking, the cable fell out of my hand. No way is it safe!

My bird was playing with a bell and eventually it broke and got stuck around the beak and the lower one splintered in the middle as he tried to free himself. I had to pry it off with pliers. Total agony for the bird (and owner) and damage to the beak.

After a day on the perches, my parrot looked sick and couldn't keep his balance. I thought he was going to die. We immediately removed the perches and it took two days for the bird to behave normally and start eating. The perch is painted and covered with sand that must have been eaten by a bird.

Having recently learned that we should NOT give our Senegal parrots plastic toys (they often bite off small bits and can swallow them, which can lead to health problems and even death) , we move on to all wood or natural fiber materials. The rope climbing toy provides our bird with something safe to chew and climb.

I use this product for my rat cage. I really like it, it's very flexible and durable, it stays in place and to clean I just dip it in soapy water and dry in the sun. The overall design is pleasant. The only downside is the fact that the bottom doesn't have a clip like the top, meaning I have to tie the bottom somewhere.

I highly recommend that you do not buy rope for your pet birds as birds love to chew and will chew off small pieces of rope that get stuck in their chests and will need to be surgically removed. Although it looks cute in her cage and the birds love it, I threw mine away after seeing this video.

My parrots love hanging out on a rope pole. I hang it on the blinds above and outside of her cage. If you provide good, comfortable perches, they'll happily stay on those perches and not fly all over the room, so the clutter is concentrated in that one area. The other two perches are good too. They rub their beaks on rough surfaces, and parrots need perches of different widths to properly exercise their legs. So I have all different types of perches inside and outside the cage. I bought this for my parrot because the reviews were so impressive. My little man "Groot" has joined the group of birds promoting this product. At least the rope. He's there all the time. rubs his head against him; he talks to him etc. It's big for a small birdcage and difficult to bend; but once you bend it into the desired position or shape, it will hold up just fine.
