Decent quality soldering and soldering equipment

I use a similar size and compound for soldering small electronic devices. This product requires a very high temperature to penetrate the wire and is too high for small electronic devices.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Good but not great

As advertised - solder and flux

I didn't want the rosin based solder to be too thick. This product is exactly what the doctor ordered. It's thin and that was one of the options. It is easy to work with, it melts at a fairly low temperature. good sale.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Protection

It seems fine to me. suitable for welding and soldering

I'm new to soldering but honestly I can't tell this material apart from Kester. It seems to me that it's ok for the money and it always flowed and spat out the flux as it should. A good thing (I think out of inexperience).

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • hard to tell

It's solder, it works. Buy it.

Excellent solder. I'm not a professional so I do most of the soldering work at home and for small repairs. This solder works fine. I've used it to build electronics in 4 guitars since I've had it and they're all fine. That's solder. It works. Buy it.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Great first effort.

Not being an expert and honestly just learning to solder, my class talked about using 60/40 lead solder for this size. The smoothness I've seen so far soldering the wires together for the pickup mod looks like I've been doing this for years. I have this back on my shopping list.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Not sure

GO WITH THE FLOW - Solder

This lead based solder flows well and is easy to use. "EXCEPT", caution 0.6mm is really thin wire. I had to do my homework and found that 6mm is 20,000. I have re-ordered 1.0mm which is almost 40k and much better for automotive wiring use. I just duplicate the cable and everything works.

Pros
  • Diameter: 0.8 mm (0.032 in); Solder Wire Weight: 100g (0.22lb)
Cons
  • Other

Lot.: equipment for soldering and soft soldering

That's actually solder. The rumors are true. It works well, wets well, burns like a charm because I'm an impatient idiot using a 60 watt "garage iron" for electric guitar pans because 3 minutes is way too many minutes to wait for wait IF. I like it. That's solder. ALWAYS buy FLUX. Don't be me Don't be the guy trying to get perfect solder flow without flux. ALTHOUGH YOU CAN IF YOU ARE MAGIC THAT DAY. (The secret is in the flux. Buy some flux.)

Pros
  • Sn/Pb: 60% / 40%; flow: 2.0%; flows well and heats up evenly
Cons
  • Expensive

What a difference

I ordered a soldering kit that came with solder wire, for some reason it wasn't difficult to get got to melt, so I did a little research and found that this type of solder wire was better than what I had, it didn't take long to melt and the Earth Flocks soldering flux made a really big difference. I made about 12:11 that's about 12 electrical wires with ease, I would recommend I'm not someone who does this every day but for my little projects here and there it's perfect.

Pros
  • Melting point range: 185°C - 190°C (365°F - 374°F)
Cons
  • I'll write later
