I've tried everything and I have a few people I've even tried different Type-C cables like the one that comes with it and nothing, my PS4 is only two years old and i recently updated so good luck whether it works or not

Just plug and play. Just read the included instructions and you can't go wrong. You can use it on PS4 or PS5. It stores PS5 games, but due to the SSD the PS5 uses, you MUST have the game on the console's storage in order to play it. But it's easier to get it on the console when you want to play it than to download the game entirely. I recommend this product as a gamer.

For some reason there were two USB-C cables in my package. one was not compatible with USB 3.0. Changed cables and voila. After it was recognized correctly, I set it up via Playstation Settings -> Devices -> USB Drives. Works perfectly. When it arrived I was a little confused by its size and weight, but it actually looks like a mini Playstation that I've grown to love.
