New formula soaks up gels

Agree with everyone who noticed the formula change. The old version was thicker and held the hair better. The new formula sucks, and so does the packaging. You have to use a lot more and I've found I have to reapply in the late afternoon or evening. We must find a new replacement. Damn.

I just LOVE this thing. Just ordered and tried it for the first time this week. I wanted something other than the thick hair glue I used that made my hair look greasy and I didn't like the smell after a day on my head either. This messy AX look stays really clean, looks dry, doesn't make your hair crusty, and looks freaking awesome! I towel dry my short hair and then comb it down to the size of a pea. The smell isn't bad. The product appears to be working well.

I'm a woman with long hair but I love this product. I discovered this because my ex used it. The smell isn't bad, like an axe. Sometimes it makes my hair a little crunchy which I don't really like but usually when I apply it after a shower my hair stays pretty hydrated and soft. I've never used it on dry hair but now that I think about it I might try it. I think this product helps my long hair stay strong. It's a lot cheaper than a bunch of crap they sell me, so I really like that aspect too.

Difference from normal consistency - 4 years use

I'm not sure if the consistency of this product has changed in the last 6 months but it is the thinnest paste I've tried since using this product have. for over four years. The difference in consistency makes me use more paste and is annoying as I have to come up with a new amount/application method as they are so different. I don't know if it was a one off bad batch or if they changed the product but I won't be buying online again where I can't see the noodles before buying.
