Description of Backbone.js

Backbone.js gives structure to web applications by providing models with key-value binding and custom events, collections with a rich API of enumerable functions, views with declarative event handling, and connects it all to your existing API over a RESTful JSON interface.

Great framework/library with great community support

Backbone is very easy to use as it has everything you need built in to make your life easier. It's also very powerful and flexible which allows you to do almost anything you want. If you're looking for something that will save you time and effort then backbone is definitely what you should be using. Nothing at the moment, but I think the documentation could be better. Perhaps more examples? It's not so hard once you get used to it, but the docs could be updated. I've been able to create some…

Backbone was simple and straightforward to get started with

I like how easy backbone is for building out an application from scratch or adding new features when needed! It's also very helpful that they have such great documentation available online as well so you can learn quickly without having any prior experience in javascript development (which i do not). There are some things about backbones approach which could be improved but this isn't really something one would complain too much about unless working at large scale where performance becomes…

Pros
  • The simplicity to get up and running with basic CRUD views within HTML5, no need install node modules / run command line tools before getting going just jump right off :) Really simple structure makes it easier both learning curve wise AND practical usage once learned; highly accessible code syntax even after years coding other languages..ease was incredible!! Great tutorials included via docs section along side excellent support community through
Cons
  • It is hard to say

Highly recommended javascript Framework

A really powerful MVC framework for JS that is used in many places like backbone. It's easy to make complex apps using this library! The learning curve can be quite steep when you are coming from other languages though. I would suggest reading through their documentation/tutorial videos or asking questions when you run into issues while implementing something. For example, if you don't understand how callbacks work then they will not help you out very much unless you ask them to show you an…

Pros
  • Easily understood
  • Lots less lines compared with JQuery
  • Less coding time needed.
  • Good support available via github repo
Cons
  • Too complicated initially
  • Not enough examples

Great Framework For Learning Single Page Applications

Backbone is a great framework for building single page applications. It is very easy to learn and has a very simple API. It does not have a lot of documentation. It can be hard to understand how Backbone works if you do not have good experience with JavaScript. There are a few things I do not like about Backbone. I would like to be able to use the Backbone View API to create custom controls. I also would like to be able to use Backbone without using jQuery. I would recommend using Backbone as…

Pros
  • The usage model made more intuitive by its creators allows one off components in which we build all kinds
Cons
  • Zero
