🛵 Chrome Backrest Sissy Bar Luggage Rack for Indian Chieftain Chief Springfield Roadmaster Dark Horse Classic Vintage (2014-2019) Review

The pin ends of the post need to be ground to fit the backrest recesses. I knew it was possible when I bought it. Although it will look good when finished.

Almost never installed. I had to fiddle around a bit to fit the holes. But once installed, it's there forever. Super firm and feels durable, which suits me.

Had to return this item as the paintwork was poor. Gaps where the paint didn't get on the part. It's no good if you have it on a bike that can see the weather. There aren't any other reviews yet, so I don't know if this is an isolated case or not.

Very good workmanship and quality. The fit was as previously explained, I used a motorcycle jack to spread the stanchions about 1/8" apart and they fit perfectly. I would recommend but be prepared to expand the space between the mounting posts.

I bought this knowing they might have minor installation issues but was willing to take the risk as the famous brand was very expensive. I had to move the tubes apart to fit. Used the technique of previous reviewers using a floor jack to separate the tubes. The glossy black finish was in great shape

The paint on this rack is good it doesn't match the holes so you will need to bend the metal mounting bars if the mounting bolts stay inside you are bending the bars. After the rack is in place it doesn't sit flat and looks wrong it may need to be bent, now I wear blankets on the rack so you can't see the rack isn't level.

I received the first rack but found it didn't quite fit. Only a few millimeters and no screws to mount. Replacement requested immediately. The system gave me instructions to return via UPS. I dropped it the next day. My successor was also on the way. After I got the replacement, it still couldn't "fit" properly in the rear frame. A few small "modifications" with a hammer fixed the alignment and it stood upright. I'm impressed with how quickly a replacement was shipped. It looks good, is heavy…

Racks close 1-2 mm and do not fit in the mounting grooves. I used a floor jack (pictured above) to spread the post a little. A scissor jack won't work, trust me. INSERT SCREWS TO PROTECT TUBE AND THREAD FORM BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO UNLOCK IT. Trust me again here. If you smeared it too much, wrap the tube in a shop towel, use a rubber mallet and hit it hard to bring it back to normal. Don't worry about the washers popping out, they're too small, just spend $1.50 and buy the ones that close the hole
