Must be for bakers

I caught a few fish with teeth but none and was very worried. I've used them a few times and they've made taking the hook off a lot easier.

Pros
  • Pretty
Cons
  • Doubtful

Don't get your fingers hooked

I wouldn't go fishing without one of these. It was a lifesaver in many ways. Remove the hook from the fish's mouth while it is in the water or in your hand. This product puts you in full control when you bite the hook. Very durable. Bought a lot for gifts in the past

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Garden tool

Not for small hooks

This device works when the hook is thicker than the play in the jaws that grip the hood. The jaws play a little and the "teeth" are quite large. I use number 5 hook and it's useless for her. Instead, I use needle nose pliers. However, I think they will work well with larger hooks.

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • Almost everything there

mixed quality. in molds for baking

ordered 2 pieces. Once good, once bad to the limit. Neither the one nor the other. One will do the trick, the other can. I wouldn't have a smaller one if I could check it out in store first (jaws don't quite close, but MAYBE close enough to grab a big hook; maybe.?). It happens sometimes. For the price I don't find the energy to wrap it up and send it back.

Pros
  • handy piece
Cons
  • only available in white color

Broke in less than 2 months

I am a fishing guide. I have used this product for the entire 26 years that I am in charge. I bought these from Revain on June 5th and the spring in the handle broke on July 31st. There is no feature on Revain's website that would allow me to return a defective product. When I clicked the product maintenance link, I was redirected to a furniture flash page unrelated to fishing tackle.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Sad packaging

The bakery hook has always worked perfectly

I have been catching and putting zander, pike and saltwater fish for many years. I used stainless steel and a regular baking hook, but I recommend stainless steel, especially for salt water. This tool is better than pliers. I wouldn't go fishing without them and take two with me on trips across Canada. They don't break but my fishing partner takes one or sometimes one ends up in the lake. Great tool!

Pros
  • Trial year
Cons
  • Appearance

Good work! Stainless steel sold me

I've wanted to have a pair of these for a long time. I see them in stores but they always looked flimsy and often cost around $5. I'd rather spend a few bucks more and buy a nice pair that will last longer, or maybe as long as I'll ever need them. Based on other reviews of them, including examples of saltwater use, I was sold. Luckily I caught a few pike that need them and they work great every time. Would definitely buy again. Time will tell how they hold up but based on the experience ofโ€ฆ

Pros
  • understandably to the old
Cons
  • Some little things

Great tool terrible spring

I've been using this tool for over 20 years and I love it...although the spring broke first the last one only lasted 3 months. This tool is used on a charter boat that actively fishes in the summer and lives in salt water and air. The tool lasted many years before the rivet shank rusted. Then I was able to fix the pole and move on. But the spring ss breaks very soon. Now I have three tools with broken springs and one new tool in the package. I can't find a replacement torsion spring anywhereโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power
