Very good compact solution for shooting from above. I've only had a few problems, but I've found ways to work around them. The extendable arm that connects to the camera is not securely attached to the main arm. I had to add a piece of sponge to get a solid connection. It would also be nice if the retractable arm was a bit longer or retractable.

I received this stand to install my DSLR behind my computer and use it as a webcam. It's very durable and makes it easy to position the camera where I want it. I bought this to hold the ring light. I've recently started teaching my cousin how to crochet with magnification and I needed extra lighting so she could see everything clearly. This is a great way to pick it up and get it out of the way. Thanks to the ball head, I can tilt it to get the right angle. It clips onto my desk easily but not so hard that it damages my desk. I think this is the same rod that came with the Vijim lightbar. It feels really good and strong. It is very easy to detach and extend the handles. It never feels like it's going to break down. I was concerned that the ball head wouldn't be strong enough to hold my camera (the original bmpcc which is a lot smaller than a lot of cameras to be honest) but it holds up pretty well. This item is a lot stronger than I thought it would be. It also comes with a ball head, which is nice. I originally wanted to get an Elgato multi-purpose mount, but went for it because the ball head was detachable and it was a bit cheaper. I was concerned that this mount would not hold my SL2 with Sigma 18-35mm 1.8, but it definitely fits and is solid.
