Excellent CB Radios and Two Way Radios

I bought these for my grandson as he was very disappointed with some others that didn't work. I had never heard of BaoFeng before but after reading the reviews and how much people liked them I saw that they work great. I would buy them again.

Cons

Free reception for 1/2 mile. Then it starts falling apart.

Max range is 1/2 mile on a clear day. But they are good for children or for hiking. Durable plastic. The battery life is excellent. I liked the first set so much that I bought a second set. The second set was missing parts like headphones. How do I get the missing pieces?

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • So far so good

They work REALLY well - high quality product and exceptional clarity compared to children's versions which cost almost the same but lack the ability to enjoy clear conversation. I usually don't really like things that are NOT made in the USA, but this product is a worthy exception.

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • The list will be long.

They lasted the whole trip with fairly good usage

We bought them for a 12 hour trip. They endured the whole trip with a pretty good amount of use. The quality is pretty good if you're around. The downside is that they can reach a mile at best. We tested them fully charged and my husband is in town. That's a little less than a kilometer. And there was a lot of noise. If he had gone further, it would not have worked.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers

BF-888S Radio

These are great little radios and the price makes the offer even better. Basic functionality: channel and volume. These are not FRS radios due to the detachable antenna. Standard frequencies have GMRS and FRS channels, as well as some business band channels. You need a programming cable and software to set it up. I used a $6 Baofeng cable and the free Chirp software package (google it). I had no problems reading and writing to the radio's memory.

Pros
  • Convenient item
Cons
  • Exchange possible

Works in allotments!

Great! I bought it for my son and nephew (4 years old), we live a kilometer apart, there are many houses between us and the boys hear each other perfectly! Ease of use, multiple channels, a small flashing light is also a hit. The only weird thing was I'm pretty sure one of the walkie talkies was used before. It wasn't packaged properly and I could see slight signs of wear on the antenna. It also didn't have a rope loop like the other walkie-talkie. I would act, but I didn't realize it until the

Pros
  • Handsfree

  • Very expensive
