The switch literally broke into about 20 pieces. It was poorly constructed and held together with small plastic tabs. It is quite fragile after use. 2 months used, 4 months in storage. When trying to install it on the front panel, it broke into individual components. There is no way to rebuild. Very poorly built and overpriced for what it is.

Excellent quality looks very durable no problems. If you're interested in wired connections, here's how it works: No contact is made in position 0, so that position cannot be used for any function other than shutdown. 1, 1 and 2 make contact, 2 is 3 and 4, 3 is 5 and 6 and 4 is 7 and 8. So each position is an independent contact but you can of course connect them all together to make a switch with them make a channel with 4 positions plus OFF.

This switch replaced a 30 year old German model on my Grand Banks. A new derailleur costs less than 10% of the cost of a new exact replacement model. Yes, the instructions are in Chinese (a downside), but if you can't figure out which wires connect to which position, you may not need to install this yourself.
