It was an expired purchase. I'm glad I didn't spend much. Nothing really holds the blade in place. So not only are they difficult to install, but they also tend to move around during use. The metalwork isn't impressive and the wood inside the handle isn't smooth. In short, save up for something better and worth your money.

Razors are most effective when properly crafted. The only thing that can be said for sure about this razor is that it fails on every count. The design looks good from the side in the picture, but it feels rough and chunky in the hand. The flakes are too thick and give the impression that they were cut in bulk on a machine and assembled into a finished product with little effort. The rough edges, which could be easily sanded down, didn't mean it would stick to your hand if you manipulated it…

The price is unbeatable. A similarly expensive hard steel razor wouldn't cut an onion otherwise. If you're not a whetstone ninja, these blades are what you need. Light but well built. My only disappointment was that when inserted, the blade protruded further than it should. It took me ten minutes to figure out that I had to break these blades in half to get a 1.5mm exposure. You get what you pay for. My old razor broke after 7 years so I bought this one because it looked good. I was able to set up my old razor in about 5 seconds. This does not hold the razor in place. So I held the razor with my finger (dangerously) and pushed it back and the razor just scratched the black paint on the holder just shifted and angled. I tried it in the shower for a few minutes, got so frustrated I threw it in the trash. I took it after showering and submitted a refund :)

Switching to a straight razor should not be taken lightly as it takes practice and if you don't have a good razor you can easily cut yourself in the face. This product, on the other hand, is very well designed, feels good in the hand, and makes shaving fun and effortless. The blades are easy to change and ensure a very close shave. The look and feel are amazing and we recommend it to any gentleman looking for a straight razor.
