Ideal for in car use

Use this in car with car stereo. Do not connect the phone cord directly. Use this so you can replace the phone jack on your dashboard and not have to remove the device.

  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unsafe

Upgraded to my VW Golf 2013 (mk6)

Plugged this from my outlet in front of my advisor (2013 VW Golf) into a storage space in the back of my advisor next to my aux plug. I connected an Mpow bluetooth transmitter which gave me the ability to use bluetooth.

Pros
  • Shipping was very quick
Cons
  • Volume

Provides seamless dashboard integration

I was able to use a Dremel to cut an inconspicuous small square hole in the F150 cigarette lighter bezel. The Batige port slid securely (and onto the back of the aftermarket stereo) just like an OEM setup. Very happy with his work and looks.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • There are nuances

A simple upgrade to an old machine.

Cut a small hole in the dashboard and had to thin the trim panel a bit for this USB adapter to snap in. The only downside is that it's not designed for very thick materials. But it's easy to fix if you're on hand. Dremels are magical tools. Use this with Alpine iLx-207. Mazda Tribute added in 2009

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Clean install and great cable length options!

Pretty basic but I put it in my truck to keep up with new cars. I was really hoping it would look like a new Chevy truck as mine is only 2005 and to my surprise after I installed it it looked very clean. Hooked up to my aftermarket stereo and installed in a central area. Looks great and keeps everything hidden and clean. Also works great

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not Automatic

It works but doesn't fit the standard square holes in Toyota

I was really hoping it would be close enough to the standard square holes in Toyota dashboards but it was really small. This is a problem for me as I have the right tools to install this into an existing plug in the console, but for those who don't have a lathe, drilling a square hole in the plug will be a lot of fun! Better get a small drill and some flat files if you don't have them! I don't understand why it's so hard to find a USB port that fits Toyota (and most other makes of car, my old…

Works after slight modification

Installed with a small modification. The surface I attached it to was about 2.5mm thick plastic and the two plastic tabs that are supposed to hold the connector in place are for thinner material so they don't lock it at all. I trim off the ends of the petals a bit and now the locks are in place. I wish it was available with a right angle plug for the back of the radio and a shorter cord.

Pros
  • Car audio and video installation
Cons
  • There are new competitors

You need to be creative but it works well

As others have said you need to spend some time preparing the hole. I used a dremel and hand sanded for the final finish. The cable is designed to fit into a very thin panel, maybe 1/16-1/8 inch, but that's easily adjusted by trimming the plastic ears that hold it in place. I added this to an internal slide out panel in my Mustang 06 console to allow the Apple Car Play to connect to the secondary radio and it works great.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Without Machine

Looks great and works great when it's on your car.

Finally found the time to install it on the car. Depending on where you want to install it and what car you have, this may take some work. I installed mine right on the center console and literally had to cut open half of the interior to get to my car radio and also take out the entire center console. It's advisable to have a Dremel tool as you'll also need to do some cutting and sanding. The installation part was the hardest part but other than that it looks great and works great once…
