Retaining ring cannot be installed

For 05 Crv awd. The depth of the snap ring ball joint was not suitable for passage through the steering knuckle. The deviation is about 1.5 mm. I hope the press fit holds without the added protection of the retaining ring!

Retaining rings do not match

CRV 2002 // As with other reviews, ball joint does not depress far enough to install retaining ring. This required quite a bit of elbow grease (and about five feet of leverage) to push them in. Based on what other reviewers have said, I'm hoping the press fit is good enough like the OEM hinges, but I went further. and still grind the joints to try to fit the snap rings. No luck, now I'm trying to grind down the locking rings to make them fit. Wire can be used instead. Ghetto.

At least the Beck Arnley was much narrower. I hope he stays! If I had to do it all over again I would file a small knuckle and locking ring. Honda requires the purchase of a steering knuckle that already has a ball joint, but requires the installation of a new wheel bearing - not an ideal design, especially for a…
