Although it claims to fit a king bed, the support straps are significantly 4-5 inches shorter than a standard king bed. There are two alternative methods of installation: 1) velcro which I'm not sure about, or 2) screwing into a box spring. After playing around with it for a while, we try to screw it into a spring block, but advertised there shouldn't be any ways to install it on a full sized bed. We bought this rail based on the reviews we found and the ease of installation. So I wouldn't recommend it to your child. I dropped my daughter 2 nights in a row. Poorly designed, bottom bar keeps falling off. I have reconnected the bottom bar many times. Completely reinstalled with the security latch and still not working. I contacted the company who said on the website they would get back to me within 24-48 hours. Well it's been almost 2 weeks and still no word from them to fix this issue…
