Just NOT wide enough (with protection) for our Ikea children's loft. We use it anyway, knowing it'll probably work in the woods. But it stinks. However, my daughter really wishes she had a place for water and a book at night.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. The tray arrived with a huge spike that looked like an ABS stain in the middle. To top it off, the tray was in a plastic bag in the box, so someone looked at the defect, said "that's not my problem" and put the tray in the bag and then put it in the box.

This is great for my daughter's top bunk. She is 8 years old and loves to read in bed before bed. Offers space for 2 books, even thicker ones, less is more. Small box of tissues. Drink. And a remote control for her moon in my room; which she uses for the night light. Very convenient! When it arrived I was skeptical of its durability, but it was a pleasant surprise and very interesting. Edit: Many months later and still great! Holds up well!

The tray is actually very beautiful and the person I gave it to liked it very much. 3 screws and 2 heads for those screws (the heads prevent the ends of the screws from damaging the bed frame when you tighten them) - so forget about using the tray! Since there aren't many moving parts in the tray, it should be easy to inspect all parts before shipping. Too bad they didn't bother to check this.
