It looks like this hat will be cool in the hot southern summer. The rim creates a nice shade all around and the crown is well ventilated. Seems like a good hat. The only thing that prevents it from being perfect is that the inner sweatband is not perpendicular to the crown but lies flat like an extension of the brim inside the hat. I hope regular wearing will fix the problem, if not I'll get back to you to let you know.

I love the color and size of this hat but it's not as high quality as the others I've found at Revain. This is definitely a more fragile design. And the crown is flat. The flat crown worked for me, other hats were too low. I wish it had a more solid construction and then I could give it 5 stars. I think if you wash this hat just once, it will completely destroy the rigidity of the brim and become soft.

After being diagnosed with a basal cell lesion on the crown of my head, I was told to always wear a hat when out in the sun. Everyone knows I HATE hats and when they tell me I have to wear them, they're pits. However, when this hat arrived I tried it on and was very pleased with its lightness. In fact, I almost feel like I'm not wearing a hat at all. So I'm following my doctor's orders and looking stylish at the same time.

Although we have a few children's hats in our collection, I bought them with the approach of summer in South Florida specifically for the vented mesh around the top of the hat. My kids sweat a lot when they run in the sun and the low brim and mesh top make the hat bearable to wear. They are perfect for my 7 year old.
