    Good range? What range?

Following the advice of several positive reviews of the Belkin Pre-N router and card, I bought it for my desk which is only 50 meters from the device. I had a Linksys Wireless-G card on my desktop and it was having poor reception so I figured pre-n would help. On the box they completely falsely boast that it's 800% better than the wireless G. This card got very weak on every connection (worse than my old g card) and after 2 hours of Belkin's TERRIBLE tech support and trying all 11 Channels and…

Running Pre-N with Vista. I did it!

Just received the Pre-N card and router. It works fine with all my XP computers, but I have removable hard drives. Once with XP and once with Vista. Called Belkin and they told me they can't help, it's incompatible and that's all it takes. When I inserted an internal drive into Vista, it wouldn't boot at all. So I hit start, went to my computer and saw the Belkin installation CD in the CD drive. I right clicked on the installation drive and clicked open and saw the setup icon. Then I right…

    Speed vs. Reliability.

EDIT: Now I understand why I could never get it to accept a WPA2 signal (WPA encryption is fine), even though the corresponding Belkin Pre-N router does offers. This card is NOT on the WIFI Alliance's list of compatible and approved products and therefore does not use the more secure WPA2 protocol, although it is part of a qualified Belkin Pre-N router and is considered essential for security today. No, updating the router or card firmware will not help. --------------------------------- ------

My connection to my Pre-N router has greatly improved

I have a multi-computer home with machines in two different areas, not to mention a laptop that's roaming everywhere . I have previously used a Linksys gaming adapter for one of my desktop computers to access my wireless network. I had frequent crashes or freezes that required reboots even when I had a strong signal. I bought this card and almost all my network problems are gone. I was still having the occasional loss of access when a reboot fixed the problem, but the card happens once a…

    Excellent reception, speed

Very easy to install and use. Connected to my pre-router at 108 Mbps and I didn't slow down at all with my internet connection of 3106 kbps download and 254 upload (which is the maximum speed my cable company offers in our area). The only trick if you want to set up WPA - PSK Security on your network. Your PC must be running Windows XP SP2 and you must be using the XP wireless network connection (instead of the Belkin software) to set up the connection.

    Great for Belkin Pre-N Routers

This card is the first wireless device I've ever purchased without a visible antenna and was concerned about performance. My fears were not justified, this card offers a much better reception than the LinkSys with a large antenna that I replaced. Installation is quick and easy if you don't make my mistake. I plugged the module into the board the wrong way round and it just doesn't work. When the card is inserted into my computer, the result shows that the indicator on top of the module is…

    Belkin Desktop Network Card

I had a problem installing this device. When the card is plugged into a laptop, the card plugs in with the LEDs facing up, but when plugged into my Dell desktop, it plugs in with the LEDs facing down. It has no key to prevent wrong installation.

Bad service best on computer parts

Product not working. No help from Belkin. I contacted Revain about a return and was told I would have to deal with Computer Brain who advised I would have to pay the return postage plus a 15% restocking fee for the defective item. Never buy from Revain again
