🔌 Belkin XM Auto Power Adapter - F5X005 Review

I needed a replacement power supply for my XM radio. This one worked with my radio and works very well. I bought a few things from Belkin. Belkin items work and last much longer than some of the items that come with the items I buy.

The one that came with my Roady XT has completely died (cracked, the cover on the circuit board smoked inside). This one works great, same shape on the 12v socket and same plug on the radio. I liked the price, and the regular delivery got it here fast enough.

Does what it's supposed to. how awesome is that According to the instructions, I still have to write ten words. If you can't say anything good in 5 words, what difference does it make if you write more words? Anyway, I am very happy with this item. Good business.

Purchased in combination with XM Skifi2 stand. The plug was the wrong size. The docking station was fine, but this connector was completely different from my original. I suspect Revains is to blame for pairing it with the Skyfi2 stand. But for 5 euros it's not worth sending it back.

I have seen other products advertised for this need. They were very poorly constructed and broke with very little normal use. However, this device is a quality device. After a few hours of use, it is like new and shows no signs of wear. At least they are in no way inferior to the original adapters contained in the car kit.

I have ordered 5 more of these adapters because I do a lot of home electronics that require 5 volt power. This adapter is actually a 12 volt DC to 5 volt DC switching power supply (converter) rated up to 2 amps. I take apart (and throw away) the adapter case, make a modification or two, and plug it in. This is the best value you can get for a 5V power supply.

Shipping wasn't as fast as others but not slow enough to complain. I was disappointed that this charger does not work with the XMP3i portable satellite radio. It will connect to the device on its own. However, in a car, a bracket must be fitted to use the antennas. This plug did not fit into the socket in the bracket. :(

Bought this to replace my Pioneer Inno. My old one crashed in the boat last summer. Someone, whose name should remain anonymous, was standing as the driver shot the boat. Fell on the cables, pulled the charger aside and broke it. I figured I'd have to buy a whole new $80 car kit to get an OEM style charger. Luckily I found one here. Works perfectly. Has been running for about a year now with no problems.

This adapter is almost identical to the original that came with my MyFi. It's good in a way, but bad because my original ended up breaking because it's a cheap plastic screw holding the spring. I expect this one to have a similar lifespan hence only 3 stars. It works great though, and as long as you don't unplug it often (which I do) it will probably work fine for you.
