🚴 BELL LED MIPS Adult Road Bike Helmet with Formula Technology Review

Luckily an LED is attached to it because there's just no glow or ghosting effect. It's just a gray helmet. Good helmet, rubbish to claim it has reflective quality

I have a round Asian head and I find it difficult to find bicycle and motorbike helmets that fit. This one suits me. The helmet itself is well made and lightweight. The LED lamp is USB rechargeable, which is nice. I have yet to try it but first impressions are that it is a good quality helmet.

This helmet is very comfortable to wear. The rear light has a choice of 3 different displays. The flash is clearly visible even on a clear day. One complaint is that turning the flash on and off takes some work. Bell makes a similar helmet with a visor. In the end I am very happy with this helmet.

Great helmet at a great price. I love that it has mips tech and doesn't really have a 🍆 shape at the top. LED backlighting comes in handy on cloudy days and late afternoons. However, I mostly drive in the sun. The only thing that bothers me is that the light doesn't turn on and off when needed.

The LED switch is extremely difficult to use. It's hit or miss. Rarely does the bulb light up on the first press. It takes a lot of tries. It's the same with shutdown. It's also difficult to connect a cable to the charging port. It looks like it's tilted inward. The helmet itself is easy to adjust and comfortable. However, the buckle is very difficult to open with cold fingers (temperature 20-30 degrees).

A game-changing helmet - it really wicks the sweat away from my eyes. With my previous helmets, I had major problems on hot days on longer climbs because sweat ran off my forehead and caused severe burning in my eyes. I try to take off my glasses, wipe them, restore them. yuck One of the reasons I bought this Bell Formula helmet was because it required better sweat management and was totally worth it. This helmet was great. I sometimes put on a small headband to wipe away the sweat and it only takes 0.2 seconds to adjust the helmet to the extra thickness (or lack thereof). The sizing system is simple but extremely useful. When I bought it, I thought the flashing light was stupid, but I'll never drive without it again. It lights up my whole garage if I forget to turn it off. The battery life was also excellent. Best guess is I get 6+ hours on a single charge, but it's never really died on me…

EDIT 7/11/21 I bought a matte black LED/Ghost helmet. I rate the individual components: ***** (5 stars) The helmet itself is comfortable and light. I have driven up to 75 miles / 4.5 hours several times. It fits better than my Specialized Airnet and is reportedly a few grams lighter. I was able to install my The Inside without any problems. Airflow seems normal, although it's nice to take off during breaks, just like any other helmet. ** (2 stars) LED taillight - probably worth the extra $20…
