🚲 Bell Soquel MIPS Bike Helmet: Enhancing Safety and Style on the Roads Review

I would have had a much worse day yesterday without this helmet. bike lunch. I lost air in the rear tire at a very unfortunate time and lost the rear of the bike. I got close and he spun around and smashed the seatpost on the back of my head at about 10-15 mph. The result was a fairly mild concussion, the next day I was almost completely fine despite the street rash at the back of the quarter. Without this helmet the situation would be much worse, I'm sure.

I bought this helmet because it was Thursday I needed a helmet by Saturday and this one had excellent one day delivery. Seems to be a good helmet for the price. Thankfully I haven't taken headshots with it yet, but I'll update this review when I do. The lining is definitely thin and the ventilation is on par with a skateboard helmet (almost none). They look better than the competition's designs and that's a big selling point. I also needed sun protection, so I needed a helmet with a visor. This one has a visor but I wish it was a bit longer. If you are looking for a bike helmet for urban use, I would recommend one with the MIPS system. That's why it's important. MIPS goes beyond the normal blunt impact to the head that a normal helmet protects against. The helmet has a small flexible plastic layer that spreads the impact from a central point. I can vouch for this helmet as it has saved me before after being hit while making a right turn. The helmet made a big difference when my head hit the ground. I didn't have a severe concussion
