The French press seemed to work well in the filtration department.

The French press seemed to work well in the filtration department but quality control must be lacking. It looks like the bottom corner was off the ground leaving a small hole. Water penetrated between the two shells and remained trapped. It leaks when hot water is poured and makes noise when stirred.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Hard to tell

I love it. Sturdy for French presses

I got sick of the glass cracking or breaking (and the last one actually had the metal frame peeling off) on the numerous Bodum French presses we've had and how our coffee came quickly in winter gets cold. So I thought I'd try this Bellemain. I love it. Strong, good looking, and it keeps my coffee hot for at least an hour, probably drinkable in two hours, but I've only had it a few days and haven't timed it. Screens work better than Bodum for drag protection. I'm surprised how decent it is in…

Even cheap coffee tastes good

There are many French presses at Revain that look just like this one. I chose this model because of the positive reviews and the very reasonable price. The glass model was dropped due to many reviews describing how easy they are to break. I also have an OXO Barista Brain which I really like (I use a permanent gold mesh filter). I grind my own beans and use the same beans in both pots along with national brand decaffeinated ground coffee. The French Press really brews an excellent cup of coffee.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Don't really like it but it's ok

Successful replacement of an Aeropress (no small feat)

I have recently used a Bellemain French coffee press after purchasing it and my husband and I love it. We were afraid to replace our Aeropress, but needed something that could brew coffee once and serve us both, instead of brewing coffee twice in a row and then chilling too quickly. We love that it's insulated and stainless steel (no need to worry about broken glass like other French presses). It looks nice too, I like to keep it for aesthetic reasons :) It's strong and no ground coffee oozes…

TOXIC HEALTH HAZARD

This looks like a press made in China, they gave it a Western sounding name so you might think it's from a European country. This is a regular Chinese made press that I bought because it's the cheapest, all stainless steel and no plastic at Revain. Works perfectly. ***** REVIEW UPDATE ***** I'm changing my rating to 1 star because I've since realized that the canister itself is aluminum. The only thing made of stainless steel is the strainer. This coffee press is toxic because the stainless…

Nice French press BUT.

Overall nice product. Of the many I've looked at (all similar and made in China), Bellemain's promotional photos show the longest piston rod. See attached photos. BUT, it was shorter by 15-20mm (0.6-08 inches) compared to the Francois et Mini I currently use and the previous glass 1 liter version which broke. How much can a stupid extension of the stainless steel stem by 12-20 mm cost? Of course I would have liked a longer plunger so I could push it all the way down like the old models did and…

Very happy with the purchase.

I argued for a long time about Bellemain and Secura before deciding on Bellemain. I can't think of any additional benefits that Secura could offer for the extra price. Well, Bellemain certainly doesn't disappoint. I am very happy with the fit and finish, the quality of the material etc. The French Press is a simple mechanical device and the Bellemain offers very reliable performance. The Secura has a three-layer fabric and the Bellemain has two, like most presses. but the net is pressed tightly

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Easy to maintain

Forget glass, now I'll be stainless steel.

Dig this product right here citizen. I have found that my glass press (another major brand) is showing its age. The jar was good, but the plastic bumpers, handle, lid, and base were beginning to take on an "old plastic" feel of flexibility but also brittleness. Also, my butt was broken; since the "mother" holding the screen down had a stripped thread BECAUSE IT WAS PLASTIC. So since I needed my coffee daily to avoid killing random pesky people I checked out this website to determine how to do…

Looks good but I can't remove the bottom screen for a deep clean

Used a few times One thing I notice is that unlike my old French Bodum press, these don't give the coffee that nice beige "Film" that I used to put on coffee. I liked that aspect of my Bodum press. However, for some reason I don't get it with this one. It looks attractive especially if you are serving coffee for a company. It looks almost the same as a good restaurant compared to someone pouring coffee from a glass French Press. If (like me) you want to fully clean/flush it after each use, you…
