Bought these as cheap agar plates. They are made from PP5 plastic and can be sterilized in a 15psi pressure cooker, allowing agar to be pre-poured to reduce the chance of contamination. I've grown oyster mushrooms and shiitake mycelium before using these containers so they work. You must choose the frosted round version of the SCREW VERSION, do not buy the "clear" flip top agar lid. The only downside is that they are opaque, but they are MUCH cheaper than borosilicate glass sheets.

Have been using these as autoclavable Petri dishes for a year or two now. I see others have discovered them too and they're harder to order now haha. Spring. I do all my transfers and cleans on them and my final masters on borosilicate for photo finish. They are not completely transparent but they do the job and more importantly they are very easy to handle with a sterile procedure. Original review, see edit below: These items are amazing. They're labeled as bead containers, but OMC quickly adapted them for "No Pour" reusable Petri dishes. Because they are made of PP5 plastic, they easily withstand sterilization cycles. And since they have a screw cap, no parafilm is needed. The only wish is that they were bigger.
