There is some silicone on the inside of the part to secure it, right where the cover connects to the shift shaft. Slightly tighten the lock (blue) on the adjusting screw, done!

Removed the heel derailleur from my Harley leaving exposed the portion of the shaft where the derailleurs attach. This item beautifully covered the open part of the shaft. Thank you Benlari and Revane!

Fits perfectly, looks like plastic but the chrome finish matches the other chrome on the bike. I used a small amount of thread tape on the tiny allen screw to keep it from dangling. Driven 500 miles through mountainous terrain and curves. So change a lot. Brought it home while it's still there so will check it out. It also looks beautiful!

A big improvement over cutting the shifter shaft into my boots. It's clean and tapered to offer the maximum space available. I hope he wears well. But I ordered a replacement just in case. For the price you can afford more. I'm thinking of ordering a pair for my friends who, like me, just don't swap heels for toes.
