💧 Sport Berkey Water Filter Bottle – 22 Oz. for Long-Lasting Durability Review

At first I was very happy with this bottle because it does what it is supposed to do and is great for travel, environmental protection and always clean water. The reason I'm very disappointed with this purchase is that it's not cheap and it wouldn't be a problem if it took longer than 3 weeks. The straw got stuck and eventually pulled all the way out when I tried to untangle it. For the price it shouldn't and shouldn't last more than 3 weeks. Not at all happy about it.

I had a lot of expectations for this product - mainly because I've been using the Berkey filter unit at home (for 7 years) and love it. I was disappointed with the design of the straw and how you had to press the bottom of the bottle where the filter is to squeeze the water out of the thin straw. The lid leaked too - and yes I didn't want to over tighten it to clean it but I did tighten it enough where the leak shouldn't be. I sent both bottles back. Hope that helps.

I took this with me on a recent trip to Europe to make drinking water. I have looked into the Berkey steel filter system in the past and had high hopes for it. In fact, as other reviews have said, this bottle isn't that easy to use and needs constant squeezing and squeezing to get the pressure it needs, and it's not waterproof. After reading the reviews I didn't dare to order a bottle because yeah it's not cheap. So far I haven't had any issues with the bottle and the water it filters really does taste better (I doubted that statement either). There is a gasket at the top, if it lets water through I just push it firmly in until it stops.
