I find the ball and lever RAM system very useful for these types of applications and it absolutely works. I pair it with a RAM X grip and short arm as my car doesn't have enough room for a phone.

I have a full T-connection ram mount system for the iPhone and iPad Mini so they both fit in the same mount. I received this drink holder and it works like a dream. Love it.

For this price it has the best coaster grip I've tried but the stem that connects the ball is hollow plastic and doesn't hold up to use. I'm going to replace the shaft with a metal core by drilling through the ball to get the excellent coaster component.

That thing is huge! I wanted this for my cars with classic soda can sized cup holders. It's just too big. It's so bulky I can't even put it in because the cup holder in the center console is too deep (about 1 inch) so it doesn't get clear, and on my other car it's too shallow and won't hold. Place. Bought mid November and didn't install until early December or so. Used it to hold the controls for our salt shaker in the cup holder without constantly poking holes in our truck's interior. The thing worked great. Easy to remove when not in use and install under the seat. I reached for it yesterday and the 1 inch ball snapped right into the little post that connects it to the base.
