Great little lightweight vacuum. It has good suction and contrary to what many reviewers write, does a great job. I'm not sure if all the negative reviews about having to hold down the power button work. My last B&D handheld was the same and no problem holding the button for the 30+ seconds needed for most tasks lol. This is actually a good feature as it prevents the device from accidentally turning on and draining the battery. Buy it, you won't regret it.

It offers good suction as others have noted, but the design of this model is so ridiculous that it's amazing, which is why a lot of people think it's great. As mentioned, the rubber valve is there to seal the contents in after it's been sucked in and will not get in the way of the filter bag unless you intentionally crumple the bag. And even more pointless, since the vacuum is stored handle down on the charging station, of course the shutter opens because there's a strange force on the planet…

Discreet little device. Make a vacuum. Not the best. Not horrible. The battery is quite decent for tuning. He died only once while cleaning the car. Partly because I specifically tried to drain the battery to see how long it would last. Doesn't take pistachio shells. I think this is as good a test as any. My shark is exponentially stronger.
