I only use this antenna for home and garden access points. For that it works perfectly. The size is short enough that it looks like another handle on the radio. It adjusts well in the 430-440 range, which is perfect for my hotpots. The outer shell is stiff and has visible stitching, but for my use it fits perfectly. I've never tried accessing local repeaters, but I hear the closest ones.
