I was so concerned when my original one broke and of course I thought... AMAZON HAS AN CHEAP REPLACEMENT! It's just like the original and does the job more than well!

The original product consists of two small plastic pins that attach to the base plate to hold them together. It fits perfectly but why haven't they improved it, I like the mop but plastic is not a good choice for this application. If that one breaks, I'll throw that mop away and find something less expensive or better made. I won't buy this again.

The design has been changed. My original leg window that came with my car has a small rubber scraper but the replacement window does not. In its place is a piece of hard plastic that doesn't reach the roller. However, the squeegee part is separate and is attached with three small Phillips screws. I was able to replace the old window's rubber piece with the new one as the flexibility and proximity to the roller will likely improve performance. Note that there is no mention of a design change.
