Probably a great iron but too heavy for me

This iron looks great and the list of features is impressive. Also, I've always liked Black and Deck. But this one is so heavy that I just can't use it. If you have a carpal tunnel injury or arthritis, you will also find it too hard. If they made a smaller, lighter version, I'd really love that.

Pros
  • Suitable for many
Cons
  • Not for everyone

Terrible design, poor power button placement

Poor power button placement, had an older version (D2030) which I replaced after falling off an ironing board onto a tiled floor and damaging the water tank. When ironing, press the power button and increase the temperature. I ended up slightly burning the blend shirt, leaving the synthetic on the sole that had to be brushed off with steel wool. It was because I had unintentionally tripled the power. I'll try a few more times but will probably go back and buy a D2030 again or use a Rowenta. Not

Defective immediately after unpacking

First impression not great; I've had a lot of success with Black & Decker Digital Advantage over the years, but it immediately felt cheaper. I turned it on normally, the LCD screen started to work, I started ironing on Blend 4. After 2 minutes I spat water on my shirt. I thought no big deal, I was just getting started, but then the LCD screen froze and the Temp button (a much more fragile Digital Advantage version) didn't translate the number. Turned it off and waited for it to cool down…

You win, some lose - that's the loser!

Save time, don't buy this iron! I've read other disappointing reviews and usually despite the negative reviews I can still order something and love it. Not this one - the others were right! It's garbage! Right out of the box I felt like this was a refurbished product (and it wasn't, but it was). The temperature control setting didn't work - it didn't stop at any heat setting. AND IF it worked, it was in a poorly designed spot where your thumb kept hitting it while ironing. I just stood there…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled

Incredibly terrible iron. Garbage.

I like the big heavy size but that's the only good thing about this iron. Temperature Settings - There is only one button to control the temperature level. This way you can't scroll up and down the different temperatures, only up. To get to the lower temperature setting, you need to press the temperature button multiple times until it scrolls through all of the higher temperature settings, then to the "off" position, then back to the desired temperature. When the iron heats up and reaches the…

Pros
  • Great overall performance
