Great Little Drill in Power & Hand Tools

We're big DIYers and most of our tools are DeWalt (the same company as B&D I think). However, there are times when all you need is a handy, lightweight drill for drilling holes or driving in the odd drywall screws. This exercise does its job very well. I love that they moved the LED light to the base which illuminates your work better than if it were near the chuck. They also have moderately increased battery capacity compared to previous models.

Pros
  • Part of the 20V MAX* System. Maximum initial battery voltage (measured with no load) is 20 volts. Rated 18 volts
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Good Basic Drill - Driver Drills

I like that it is lightweight and easy to use. The small battery probably has a lot to do with it. I already had an old Dewalt drill with a very large and heavy 20V battery, this drill is much more comfortable. I'm concerned it won't be strong enough to drill large holes or drill thin pieces of wood. It definitely feels a bit "light". It doesn't have two speeds like my Dewalt and it seems to run a little slow. I consider it more of my main drill for using a screwdriver and occasionally use itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • The drill/driver has a built in LED light for illumination
Cons
  • Unsafe

Recently purchased 20V battery was not the same as previous 20V

has never let me down. Batteries have never deteriorated over the years and still last a few hours even after a few years. Unfortunately, this last purchased 20v is not like the previous exercises. I think they made saving tech changes a safe money. The torque controller itself keeps dropping to a lower torque and then starts clicking. It started a month or two after receiving it. I will try to buy another one but if I get the same results I will switch to another brand.

Pros
  • 20V MAX* Lithium Ion drill for superior performance and run time
Cons
  • Small change
