This item is amazing. Cooks a whole pot in about 6 minutes. I drink a lot of tea and it's perfect for that. We took it on a trip with 13 girls and we had hot water for drinks, oatmeal in the morning etc.

I give five stars because it is easy to clean and use and the water is odorless. BUT. It doesn't turn off immediately after the water boils. This takes several minutes! Extremely annoying.

In use almost every day: reliable, fast, easy to fill, easy to water. A year later it was dripping [an inexplicable puddle on the countertop] from time to time. After a year and a half, the leaks became more regular. We replaced it. All in all not a bad experience. Although I wish it had been longer.

This is a lightweight kettle. Easy to fill and use. It's a lot louder than my previous kettle. The main problem I have is the soil peeling off leaving white bits in the tea. I cleaned everything with vinegar but after only six uses it shouldn't have been necessary.

We returned the first block to Black and Decker (actually they are made by Spectrum Brands under the Black and Decker brand) after 2 months after we found water under the base had use and they sent a replacement. The same happened with the replacement. We have sent it back to the manufacturer and are awaiting a refund from them. Other brands like Proctor Silex or Hamilton Beach don't have such problems.

I am writing this because I care about people's health. It's my fault for not reading the description carefully, in general the product is not a problem in this situation, but what's really appalling is that this product is made entirely of plastic, according to research, heating plastic can release harmful substances . Chemical, during my first sip of this boiled water I constantly feel dry mouth and feel the amount of substance in it which is very bad. I don't really blame the product itself,
