My 8 year old daughter wore this to the 50's dance at school. I bought 9-10 instead of 7-8 because she is bigger for her age. She is built like a green bean (tall and skinny) and a size 9-10 fits her. There was room at the waist and it didn't fit her body tightly, but it didn't look too big either. She loved it and smiled from ear to ear all night. I would buy this again and again.

Very beautiful dress but the cream color is not as elegant as I hoped. We needed something that would fit the 50's/60's vibe for a semi-formal event. The fit was comfortable. My daughter wears a size 7/8 (loose) in most cuts and styles, but the 7/8 was EXACTLY on her. That was fine as the event was the same week, but I would be wary of buying too far in advance. I'm so glad I bought this! I gave it to my daughter for Mother's Day. It arrived today and I let her try it on for a second and she looks so cute and pretty in it. The color of the dress is beautiful and the material is excellent. It was a bit difficult to unzip the zipper, but I did it very carefully not to damage it at all. My daughter is 6 years old. She hasn't been examined recently but I'm guessing she's about 44/45 inches tall and I'm guessing her weight is around 45 pounds or so…
