After installing the substrate, the white border around the reflector

Looks terrible. I bought it to hang on my black mailbox so the village plow doesn't hit my mailbox. I didn't use it because the self-adhesive backing is larger than the reflective part and a white border is visible around the reflector. Ugly! The element is just a reflector and a separate piece of white glue larger than the reflector. You need to attach the white piece of glue to the reflector. Not what I wanted. Cheap but assembly required.

I was surprised that these reflectors didn't already come with foam tape on the back. Unlike higher quality reflectors from established brands (like Bargman) the foam tape is not exactly sized and needs to be trimmed properly to ensure it does not protrude under the reflector. Then you have to cut the backing paper a bit and stick it in the middle of the foam tape so that it doesn't stick to the reflector (that's how Barman reflectors work). The reflector is only taped to the foam tape around…

At best, it's some kind of lens cap.

FALSE ADVERTISING. These are NOT "reflectors". You are bad. They're sort of a lens cap at best with very low reflectivity, but they just don't reflect light the way a reflector on a bike does. I bought them to put on concrete posts at the end of my driveway so I can see them when pulling out of the driveway in the dark so I don't bump into the posts. But these things are almost invisible. I'd say it's a "you get what you pay for" clichΓ©, except in this case I didn't. I didn't get "reflectors"…
