Perfect fit, comfortable, durable shoe

True to size! This is a quality shoe that will comfortably conform to the shape of your foot when worn and should be snug so DO NOT add size. My daughters are 8 and both need 8's in this shoe. One daughter has a narrow foot, one has a fat foot, but both fit an 8. You'll stretch. Unfortunately I read reviews and bought "Upsize" as a gift, now I'm changing it to its real size. Get out of trouble.

I expected the worst when taking on this challenge, but I delivered.

I am a woman, 65 years old, doing tap dancing for the first time in 58 years. I have a well deserved foot problem, I expected the worst when I went to this test but I put on these shoes and started an energetic session. These shoes are divine. I needed arch supports but this solved my personal mechanical problem with my foot. I bought two pairs, another from a famous brand, all for comparison. This shoe won without a doubt. No pun. You passed the tough litmus test.

Wonderful tap dances

Excellent tap dances. I just started tap dancing and I have very difficult legs. I spoke to my tap dance teacher and she showed me her shoes, namely these. They're a bit pricey, but they're very comfortable and fit well. The skin is soft but supportive. She told me she liked the sound of the tap, which intrigued me because I hadn't thought the sound quality would be so different. But she was right. It's exciting, I like the way they sound. I am studying but am so excited and so happy to have…

Very flexible - comfortable

These shoes are very comfortable! I love how flexible they are in the middle, but I feel like I should post a little warning. If you want to stand on your toes, you can't in these shoes! The reason they are called "Tap-Flex" is because the soul of the shoe is not hard or stiff like other shoes. I love this feature of the shoe, but be aware that these shoes flex in the middle so they won't support your weight when you're trying to do a toe stand. I could best describe them as ballerina style…

Great ballet and dance shoes

I am a mother who danced as a child and now I have a child who dances. My daughter LOVES tap dancing and loves it when I tap her. I bought these and a pair of capezios (the women's version of what she's wearing) and they fit better. My feet are medium wide, not tight or loose. I bought half a size larger than my street shoes (I wear street size 8.5) because they were insanely cheap new in stock here, but a sports sock fits my needs perfectly. Based on that I would say they are very close to…

Great shoes! in shoes

I started tap dancing again a few years ago after a break of about 15 years. Not sure I could handle it, I bought the cheapest tap shoes I could find and almost immediately regretted it. The insole wrinkled and had to be taken out and the sole was hard and my feet hurt in the middle of class. Two years later I decided to invest in better shoes and tried on a pair of Blochs at a dance store. They were a lot more comfortable than my old ones! But the $90 price wouldn't apply to once-a-week…

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Expensive

Fit as expected, one size up. The Bloch site says to go a size 1/2 to 1 and after looking at the reviews I decided to go up a full size. It fits perfectly, slightly looser in the toes but not in the heel and 1/2 size smaller. Less would be too little. This shoe is not new to us as I got it for my daughter a few years ago and a few sizes back. She often slipped into other tap shoes and was never very comfortable in them (stiff, slippery underpants, taped on). When she got them, she could dance…

Great tap shoes

Fantastic shoes. I am a size 6 with very few exceptions. My feet are pretty typical - no problems with instep, arch, bunions or anything like that. I don't have wide feet so I never have to order large sizes, but I don't like pointy shoes as they always feel like they pinch my toes, so my feet may be a bit wider in that area. There are many different opinions about sizing, so I try to be as accurate as possible about my foot size. After reading all the reviews I decided to go half a size up and

Great shoes, I prefer Capezio

I am new to tap dancing and first bought the Bloch Tap-Flex Tap for women which is my street size (5.5m). They were a little tight, so I ordered the Capezio Flex Master Tap for women in a size 6. Although both brands fit well, I preferred the Bloch construction and returned the Capezio. Both shoes are good and sound great. Here's a comparison: Bloch Tap-Flex: - More oxford-like shape, wider at the tip and tapering towards the toe - Soft leather upper. The flexible outsole is stiffer than the…
