Excellent Magnetic Oil Plug

Works great. As others have said, this is a 17mm head compared to the factory 14mm my Nissan 370Z came with. My Honda Civic came with a 17mm OEM plug so they are now compatible. The magnet is very strong. The washer appears to be aluminum.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Crumpled

No leakage and very high quality!

Fits perfectly on my 2004 Tacoma (with 3.4L V-6). The magnet is very strong (holds my 17mm wrench with ease) and should protect my engine from metal in the oil. It has a longer thread than my standard oil screw, but cleans the "standard underrun protection" without any problems. Also the head is longer (and more - the original was 14mm and this one is 17mm). However, it cleans everything with no problem!

Pros
  • Shipping was very quick
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

hands off it! in Performance Parts & Accessories

Avoid the headache! The tread came loose only after the 2nd oil change. Luckily I was able to remove the remaining threads from the oil pan of a 2015 Nissan Exterra. And no, I didn't overtighten the screw. I have changed the oil for over 12 years and this is the first time. I bought this magnetic plug to pull out bits of metal during an oil change in my new Nissan Exterra. Since I haven't seen one yet, plus the failure of this one, I'm going back to the OEM component.

Pros
  • Beautiful thing
Cons
  • Hard to say

Unpacked damaged.

I was a little upset, the magnet arrived damaged, the chip was not in the box, the chip was not in the box either. a new candle when I move and it should be a present for my brother. I will not install them for fear of exposed magnetic material or further magnet shavings entering the oil system and destroying crankpins and bearings. Cool product, the magnet is quite strong and you get a free sticker, but bad delivery in my case :/

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging

Update after 18 months. Do not buy!

After three oil changes the cork fell off! Now I have half the plug in the oil pan and the car is out of oil. I can't bring it to the store and I don't know exactly how to fix it myself. The metal, as you can see from my photo, is cast junk. Note: I did not overtighten the screw. Pure garbage. Update: I was able to put my pinky in the hole in the drain pan and slowly unscrew the broken thread part. Be careful when doing this as the broken edge is sharp. The best alternative is to stay away from
