Ordered this item to use as a shower curtain rod with a slightly larger rod diameter but about the size of a middle index finger. Okay, this is a two-piece bar that slides together easily, but when twisted for tension, the "female" end of the bar splits, allowing the "male" end to transition into the other end. Didn't think I was stressing it that much when it ripped, hence the quality of the material is lacking.

That was a great deal but they were a bit thicker than I expected. They still worked - I used them in the closet to hold spools of tape to organize my packing supplies. Overall I highly recommend them as they are very heavy. The springs are holding tight in my closet and I tugged a bit to check it out. The advantage is that 4 pull rods are included in the kit. You just can't beat this offer! I can spray paint it black so it doesn't look so obvious in my dark wood cabinet.

This is garbage. They hold no tension and are much shorter than the description says. I've tried using them on a door, in a hallway, and on the inside of a shelf to hang a curtain to hide the clutter inside. They aren't worth a dollar at the dollar store let alone the 1pm I paid for them. They were meant for a bathroom window or other small window of that size, and there's no tension in there yet. I think I could let the kids play with this like you play with empty gift wrap tubes lol.

These tie rods are of a much better quality than those available locally at WallyWorld. I use them on my vents to ensure my insulated winter covers stay in place and they work great for that purpose. I also used 2 of these to keep my air conditioner filter from sucking out of the rack. I know it sounds crazy but I need to buy filters that actually fit in a filter rack but in reality I need to use filters that are 1 inch wider.
